Oxnard, CA, April 22, 2009 – QI-Solutions ® announced today that Pacific North West Operations Lead Wanda S. Janus was elected as Commander of the Portland, Oregon Chapter of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). According to long-time Chapter members, Ms. Janus is the first female veteran to be elected to lead the Chapter as Commander. She was elected based on her demonstrated success as Jr Vice Commander and Chair of the Chapter’s Strategic Planning Committee which helps establish new programs to assist disabled veterans in the Portland area.
Ms. Janus joined QI-Solutions ® after serving for 32 years in the U.S. Navy. One of her assignments was in the Pentagon where she was exposed to airborne toxins after the 9-11 attack which resulted in her eligibility to join the DAV.
The 1.2 million-member Disabled American Veterans (DAV) is a non-profit 501(c)(4) charity dedicated to building better lives for America’s disabled veterans and their families. The DAV was founded in 1920 by disabled veterans returning from World War I to represent their unique interests. In 1932, the DAV was congressionally chartered as the official voice of the nation’s wartime disabled veterans.
We offer our congratulations to Ms. Janus and wish her and the DAV Portland Chapter every success in their continued efforts to aid disabled veterans and their families.
